Immerse yourself in a bilingual legal culture with our double degree run jointly with Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University. This integrated programme brings together expertise from two first-class law schools to help you build impressive knowledge of both countries’ legal systems.

Queen Mary and Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne academics teach across both locations. To help boost your employability, they’ll share their network of law firms with you to help you find invaluable placement opportunities in both London and Paris.

Learn about law in Paris

Spend your two years in London covering the foundations of English legal knowledge. This includes everything from elements of contract law and law in context, to equity and trusts, and the law of the EU. Then you’ll move to Paris to explore French law, comparative law, international law and European law.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a qualifying law degree that gives you access to legal professions in both countries and international organisations. If, after your first or second year, you decide to stay in London, you have the flexibility to transfer to our traditional Law LLB.

A level - A*AA

Including French (or Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française (DELF) at B2 Level). Eligible applicants will be interviewed. Excluded subjects - General Studies and Critical Thinking.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Queen Mary University of London welcomes applications from students currently studying Level 3 BTEC qualifications and will consider you for entry to the majority of our undergraduate courses. The typical entry requirements will vary according to the course you are applying for. Some of our courses require specific subject knowledge which you may not be able to cover as part of a Level 3 BTEC qualification and we may therefore require additional Level 3 qualifications to ensure that you are suitably prepared for relevant courses. A small number of our courses do not accept BTEC qualifications for entry, either as a standalone qualification, or in combination with other qualifications at Level 3. Access to HE Diploma - D: 45 credits

We consider applications from students with the Access to Higher Education Diploma. We will hold all UCAS applications until January before drawing up a shortlist based on the information in the UCAS form about your pre-Access experience, academic record, personal statement and academic reference. In February and March, applicants are shortlisted and an updated academic reference may be requested. A shortlisted applicant may be invited for interview or further assessment. The minimum academic requirement is to achieve 60 credits overall, with 45 credits at Level 3, all of which must be at Distinction. (The School of Law may specify particular Level 3 subjects in which we require a Distinction.) Typically, successful candidates are aged 21 and above at the start of the Access programme. Applicants must have an A-level in French at grade A (or equivalent).

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 36 points

To include a minimum of 6,6,6 from three HL subjects, including French (or Diplôme d’Etudes en Langue Française (DELF) at B2 Level).

Extended Project

Alternative offers may be made to applicants taking the Extended Project Qualification.

GCSE/National 4/National 5

A minimum of six GCSE passes at grades AAAABB or 777766 including English at grades C or 4, or an acceptable equivalent.

We will also consider applicants applying with the French Baccalaureate. Applicants are expected to be proficient in both English and French to apply to this programme. Applicants should be able to demonstrate at least B2 level in both French and English and offers may be subject to successful completion of an IELTS or DELF language tests.
