Content
The purpose of the programme is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals who can meet the demands of employers in the rapidly evolving Healthcare sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualification also aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.

The overall aims of the programme are to:

  • Provide a thorough grounding in healthcare principles at Level 4, which leads the student to the progression pathway at Level 5 relating to individual professions within the healthcare sector.

  • Equip individuals with the essential qualities of a healthcare professional, including integrity, principles and values as they apply to a range of roles and responsibilities within the healthcare sector.

  • Enable progression to a higher-level study such as a university degree by supporting the development of academic study skills and the selection of appropriate units for study at Level 5.

Additional fee information

Whatever the fees are for your chosen course, please note that you will not pay anything up front for your tuition. Eligible UK and EU students can apply for a Tuition Fee Loan to cover the costs of their education, and you will only start to begin repaying the loan after graduation once you are earning over £25,000. This figure may be amended by the government if average earnings change.

Depending on your household income (this will usually be how much your parents, carers or partner earn) you may also be entitled to a Maintenance Grant (which you would not need to repay).
