Course summary

Politics is one of the most dynamic and diverse academic subjects available and you will study everything from pressing issues of international crisis to the latest domestic political developments. This flexible degree is an ideal choice if you have a general interest in politics. We cover all the main branches of the subject international relations, global politics, political systems and institutions, and political philosophy.
You can also choose up to a sixth of your modules at each Stage from other subjects, such as a modern foreign language, history or law.

At least one A level from a social science or humanities subject such as History, Government and Politics, Geography, English, Economics or Philosophy is preferred but not required. General Studies is accepted. A level combinations assessed on a case-by-case basis

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DDD

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits

Scottish Higher - AAABB

AAABB at Higher Grade. Combinations of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 34 points

34 points with three subjects at Higher level grade 5 or above.

Extended Project

We welcome applications from students offering an Extended Project and value the skills of research and independent learning that it is designed to develop. If you offer an Extended Project, it will be taken into account as part of your application profile, but we will not usually include it in offer conditions for this degree programme.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, D3, M2
