OVERVIEW
Economics examines how people, businesses, and governments make decisions and interact within the global economy. At Manchester Met, the BA (Hons) Economics degree equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to analyse complex systems, interpret data, and develop solutions to real-world challenges.
Studying in Manchester, a thriving economic hub with major headquarters in finance, media, logistics, and biopharmaceuticals, gives you access to industry connections, work experience opportunities, and a city ready for ambitious graduates. This ensures your learning is rooted in real-world practice while building skills employers value.
In your first year, you will develop foundations in micro- and macroeconomics and global economic history, alongside critical thinking skills. In your second year, you will explore environmental and ecological economics and use data analysis to evaluate policies. In your final year, you will apply these skills to a dissertation on a topic of your choice.
This course has a foundation year available.
