Our BA Liberal Arts is for you if your interests span several academic disciplines in the Humanities, allowing you to focus on related debates within and between them. It represents an exciting and challenging opportunity to construct your own degree programme from an extensive list of modules. Our programme enables you to study subjects that are not available as established joint honours programmes, allowing you to develop a broad knowledge base and multidisciplinary skill set.
Tailor your studies across literature and culture, heritage and history, media and modern languages to explore the influence of the Humanities upon the world. Our BA Liberal Arts is a challenging, rewarding, and flexible degree programme, which will enable you to focus on your individual interests, strengths, and long-term career goals.
This programme offers modules grouped into three ‘menus’. Students must choose modules from Menus A (Cultural Studies) and B (Past and Present); while Menu C (Languages) offers optional modules.
During your third year, you will undertake a Year Abroad. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain further skills and cultural experiences.
This interdisciplinary degree programme is as individual as you are. If your interests lie in the Humanities, it will allow you to create your own, personalised degree programme, through an open-ended combination of modules and subject areas. The result is a blend of knowledge, ability and experience that is unique to each student.
Students can choose modules from: Literature, Media and Language, History, Heritage and Classics, and Modern Languages.
In Year 3, you undertake a Study Abroad Placement.
You can find more details about the modules on our website.
