Course summary

The importance of agriculture and food to the nation has been demonstrated more than ever over the last few years. Where the country gets its food and how it is produced is becoming ever more complex and with it comes industry demand for qualified recruits. Agriculture and the associated industries are big businesses in the UK and abroad and once studied can be your passport into employment or further enrichment overseas.

Industry links form a critical part of our course with regular visits, guest speakers and workshops from sector specialists. The course covers technical and managerial aspects of modern agriculture.

Progression Opportunities
Successful completion of the Foundation Degree will provide you with the opportunity to progress and top-up your qualification to a BSc (Hons) Degree.

This course will prepare you well for employment in the industry in positions such as farm manager, rural surveyor, unit manager, farm contractor or senior herdsperson.

Qualified teacher status (QTS)

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:

A minimum of 48 UCAS points from a full Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject area and at least four GCSEs at grades 9 - 4 including Maths and English or Level 2 equivalent.
