The Applied Business Management foundation degree at Coleg Cambria is delivered in collaboration with Swansea University’s School of Management – where you are prepared for real business from day one.
You will engage with employer-led briefs, sharpen finance, marketing, operations and HR skills, while building and developing a portfolio that proves you can deliver. Study around work in the Business Management Centre, grow your network through guest speakers and industry links across Wales and beyond, turning classroom insights into effective impact.
Future-focused and practical, the course delivers digital and data fluency, leadership, and sustainability so you’re ready for the wider economy, armed with the required tools to perform in fast moving business environments.
From live projects to optional work-based learning, your experience will allow you to develop the confidence, credibility and capability employers demand so when opportunity presents you will have the confidence to apply and achieve your goals.
In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Finance for Non-Finance Managers; Human Resource Management; Marketing; Operations Management.
In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Business Management 1 (Coleg Cambria); Organisational Project 1 (Coleg Cambria); Leadership and International Human Resource Management (Coleg Cambria).
Most modules are assessed through reports and class tests, but projects, bibliographic exercises, reflective diaries, posters, and presentations may also be utilised.

3 A Level grades B or above. We do not require A-levels in Business, Economics, Maths or Accounting/Finance. We do not however consider General Studies as an A-level subject for offer purposes.
BTEC (18 units) grades of DDM or equivalent.
We will make offers to students with predicted (or achieved) IB of 32-33 or higher.
Swansea University accepts the Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales as fully equivalent to x1 A-Level.
GCSEs: All applicants must have GCSE English Language and GCSE Maths or Numeracy at grade C or above.
UK applicants who meet course requirements are guaranteed a conditional offer. We assess applications on individual merit. We consider making reduced offers, eg. to Care Leavers or students with extenuating circumstances. We encourage you to disclose any relevant circumstances.
The Advanced Skills Baccalaureate Wales is considered as equivalent to one full A-Level and students can take x2 A-levels alongside this. EPQ students predicted Grade B or above will receive a one-grade offer reduction.
