Take a step towards becoming a highly skilled, multi-competent Police Constable. This Professional Policing (with Foundation Year) degree leads on to a full BSc (Hons) programme.

A foundation year is a great option if you want to study at university but don’t currently have the qualifications needed for your chosen honours degree.

On our BSc (Hons) Professional Policing (with Foundation Year) you'll develop essential academic skills through two compulsory modules. You'll focus on extended writing, independent study and debating relevant issues.

You'll also be able to choose from a range of optional modules introducing you to key topics. These include law, policing, criminology, sociology and psychology.

BSc (Hons) Professional Policing

When you successfully complete the foundation year, you'll progress onto Year 1 of our BSc (Hons) Professional Policing which is taught through block learning. This means you’ll study one module at a time, and you'll focus on one topic before moving on to the next one.

The BSc (Hons) Professional Policing is pre-recognised by the police service as one of the entry routes for the role of police constable. From Year 1 you'll cover the national curriculum for the police constable role, taking your first steps towards a successful career in the police.
