Course summary

Drwy astudio’r Gymraeg, byddwch yn archwilio’r berthynas rhwng iaith, hunaniaeth a chymdeithas a’r cysylltiadau lleol, cenedlaethol a rhyngwladol sy’n siapio’r Gymraeg a phrofiadau ei siaradwyr.

Gyda’n rhaglen Cymraeg (BA), byddwch yn datblygu dealltwriaeth drylwyr o’r iaith Gymraeg, ei llenyddiaeth a’i diwylliant. Byddwch yn meithrin sgiliau lefel uchel mewn Cymraeg ysgrifenedig a llafar, sgiliau allweddol mewn cydweithio a meddwl yn feirniadol, a sgiliau cyflogadwyedd a chreadigol datblygedig sy'n berthnasol i'r Gymru gyfoes a thu hwnt. Byddwn yn eich cefnogi i ymwneud yn feirniadol ac yn greadigol â’r cyfleon a’r heriau sy’n wynebu’r Gymraeg fel iaith leiafrifol mewn ffordd eangfrydig a chydweithredol, gydag ystyriaeth i bwysigrwydd cynaliadwyedd diwylliannol ac amgylcheddol.

Rydym yn croesawu’r rhai sydd wedi astudio’r Gymraeg naill ai fel iaith gyntaf neu ail iaith. Os yw'r Gymraeg yn ail iaith i chi, byddwch yn dilyn modiwlau penodol yn y flwyddyn gyntaf i ymarfer a datblygu eich gwybodaeth ieithyddol a’ch sgiliau cyfathrebu. Wedi hynny, mae myfyrwyr iaith gyntaf ac ail iaith yn dod at ei gilydd ar gyfer modiwlau'r ail a’r drydedd flwyddyn, gyda chefnogaeth bellach i fyfyrwyr ail iaith ar ffurf tiwtorialau iaith a chyfathrebu.

Asgwrn cefn y radd yw ein modiwlau craidd a fydd yn gosod sylfeini cadarn ar gyfer archwilio iaith, llenyddiaeth, hunaniaeth a chynaliadwyedd mewn cyd-destunau hanesyddol a chyfoes. Yn ogystal, mae ein modiwlau dewisol yn rhoi’r cyfle ichi arbenigo mewn meysydd sydd o ddiddordeb personol neu broffesiynol, gan gynnwys polisi iaith ac ysgrifennu creadigol. Hefyd, byddwch yn meithrin eich sgiliau proffesiynol a’ch dealltwriaeth o anghenion y Gymraeg yn y gweithle drwy ymgymryd â lleoliad gwaith lle defnyddir y Gymraeg. Yn y flwyddyn olaf, cewch y cyfle i roi eich holl sgiliau ar waith drwy ymgymryd â phrosiect ymchwil neu bortffolio creadigol, lle byddwch yn cymryd perchnogaeth o’r pwnc a’ch siwrne addysgol drwy ddylunio a chynnal prosiect ar faes o'ch dewis chi sy'n ymwneud â'r Gymraeg. Dyma gyfle ichi arddangos eich angerdd, eich hyder a’ch mewnwelediad, wrth ddangos sut y gall disgyblaeth y Gymraeg gyfrannu at fynd i'r afael â heriau lleol, cenedlaethol a byd-eang.

Byddwch yn graddio gydag ystod o sgiliau proffesiynol, gan gynnwys cydweithio, cyfathrebu a dadansoddi beirniadol. Byddwch hefyd yn ymwybodol o'r problemau a’r heriau ieithyddol a diwylliannol sy'n wynebu cymdeithasau amlieithog cyfoes mewn cyd-destun byd-eang, a bydd gennych y syniadau a'r hyder sydd eu hangen i'w datrys. Mae’r gallu i ddefnyddio’r Gymraeg ar lefel broffesiynol yn hynod ddeniadol i gyflogwyr hefyd, gan olygu bod gennych gyfle unigryw i ddilyn gyrfa ddiddorol ac amrywiol lle gallwch ddylanwadu ar ddyfodol ieithyddol, diwylliannol, dinesig ac economaidd Cymru.
