Course summary

You study wide-ranging agriculture topics in your first two years, exploring biology, soil science, nutrition, management, accounting and law. In your third year, you specialise in farm business management. You will explore management techniques used for decision-making in agricultural businesses in the UK.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted

A level - ABB

ABB excluding General Studies. A science A level is preferred. For Biology, Chemistry and Physics A levels, we require a pass in the practical element. GCSE Biology and Chemistry (or Dual Award Science) at grade C or 4 required if not offered at A or AS level.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - D*DD - DDD

in Agriculture or Applied Science.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits

45 level 3 credits with 30 level 3 credits at Distinction and 15 level 3 credits at Merit to include units in chemistry and biological sciences.

Scottish Higher - AABBB

AABBB including Biology and/or Chemistry. Combinations or Highers and Advanced Highers accepted. Scottish qualifications can be taken in more than one sitting.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points

32 points overall with Chemistry and/or Biology at Higher Level. Chemistry and/or Biology should be offered at Standard Level if not offered at Higher Level.

Extended Project

We welcome applications from students offering an Extended Project and value the skills of research and independent learning that it is designed to develop. If you offer an Extended Project, it will be taken into account as part of your application profile, but we will not usually include it in offer conditions for this degree programme.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H2, H2, H3, H3

H1H2H2H3H3 including Biology and/or Chemistry.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, M2, M2

D3 M2 M2 in Principal Subjects with Biology and/or Chemistry. GCSE Biology and Chemistry (or Dual Award Science) at grade C or 4 required if not offered at a higher level.

T Level - D

This course accepts the Science or Agriculture T Level on a case by case basis. GCSE Biology and Chemistry at grade C or 4 required.
