Course summary

The Science Foundation Year aims to prepare students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required for successful transition into degree-level study, which may open up exciting careers and further study opportunities. Students on the Science Foundation Year study a combination of core and subject specific modules as part of an integrated degree programme. The combination of modules studied is tailored to the needs of the degree programme that students wish to progress onto after successful completion of the foundation year. Following successful completion of the course, students will then progress onto a full degree programme.

    Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.
