Course summary

Qualify to work with individuals, groups, communities or populations, to promote health and wellbeing through participation in activities of everyday life, or occupation.

As a registered occupational therapist, you will have the privilege of working with people of all ages to help them participate in occupations that hold personal meaning and value to them.

This two-year full-time postgraduate course is aimed at individuals with an honours degree level qualification, interested in pursuing a career as an occupational therapist.

  • Successful completion of the course confers eligibility to apply for registration as an occupational therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and membership of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).

  • You will undertake professional practice placements that provide practice-based learning opportunities in traditional, contemporary and role-emerging settings (requirement to successfully complete a minimum of 1000 hours in practice).

  • We focus on cultural awareness and anti-discriminatory practice to enact personalised approaches to occupational therapy.

  • You will have the opportunity to undertake a professional project in a learner-led area of interest.
