The HNC in Sport is delivered on Higher Education Academy of Sport sites.
Loughborough College works with the Higher Education Academy of Sport to oversee quality assurance. Students must be engaged with the Higher Education Academy of Sport to apply for this course. Students can progress onto an HND in Sport following the course and there are options to top up into a full degree at Loughborough College.
The Higher National Certificate (HNC) is a Level 4 qualification made up of 120 credits. Studying on the HNC course provides career planning support and the opportunity for career enhancement. Furthermore, the course offers in-depth input from lecturers, tutors and guest speakers who are specialists in the field of business and management.

The programme uses a variety of assessment techniques to ensure that you can demonstrate the range of learning outcomes. Subject knowledge and understanding is assessed through examinations, coursework essays, coursework reports, individual or group presentations, written evaluations, debates and posters will be used as other forms of assessment. These also assess a range of transferable skills, including confidence in academic written communication. Simulated problems and case studies are used to assess problem solving skills and creativity in design solutions – these may be assessed through unseen examinations or as a written essay/report.
