About the course
Health and Life Sciences International Foundation Pathway: Certificate of Higher Education is designed for international students who want to progress onto an undergraduate degree in health and life sciences. It combines subject specific study with English language development and academic skills.
This pathway is suitable if you do not yet meet the entry requirements for direct entry onto a degree. You will strengthen your English language ability while building a foundation in biological sciences, human health and research skills to support your progression.
What you’ll study
You’ll build a solid foundation in health and life sciences, while gaining professional skills valued across healthcare, biomedical and scientific sectors, including academic writing, data analysis, research methods, experimental design and core concepts in human physiology.
Modules offered can vary each year but may include:

• Foundations of Biological Sciences
• Human Health and Disease
How you’ll learn
You will learn through:
• Lectures, seminars and workshops led by experienced academic staff
• English language development sessions focused on speaking, listening, reading and writing for academic study
