Explore the beauty of mathematics and have a truly global experience on our BSc Mathematics with an International Year. From theoretical maths to finance, statistics and data science, you’ll study the breadth and depth of the modern subject in Birmingham and overseas.
Take advantage of the exciting opportunity to spend a year studying abroad at one of our partner institutions in the USA, Australia, or China. You'll graduate with highly transferable skills, ready to stand out in competitive fields such as finance, management, computing, teaching, and more.
You'll spend your third year in a university of your choice among our partners from the International Exchange programme. You'll also have the opportunity to take modules both in Mathematics and in other disciplines.
We’ll help you step up to university level maths, then dive into the more advanced areas. Learn to solve complex problems and communicate technical content. Solve real-world problems and specialise in areas that interest you. You’ll get the chance to broaden your horizons with a year overseas at one of our partner institutions studying maths and other subjects. Open up a world of career opportunities with this programme course and our expert academics will guide you to become an independent and self-motivated mathematician.

Qualification requirements
UCAS Tariff - Not accepted
A level - AAA
AAA including Mathematics or AAB with an A in Mathematics and grade 2 in any STEP paper.
A level Mathematics or Further Mathematics required.
General Studies not accepted, but a grade A may be considered if you fail to meet your offer.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)
BTEC only considered when combined with other qualifications.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points
6,6,6 at Higher Level, including Mathematics, with a minimum of 32 points overall.
Welsh Baccalaureate - Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (last awarded Summer 2024)
Accepted in place of a non-required A level with the equivalent grade.
Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal
Accepted in place of A levels with the following grade equivalencies: D2 = A*; D3 = A; M2 = B. Combinations of A levels and Principle subjects are accepted. NB required subjects must be offered (see A level Section)
