Are you an entrepreneur? If so, this route is for you – your final year will involve a specialisation specifically in the skills required for entrepreneurship.

Our Business and Management degree aims to develop business leaders and managers for the changing workplace of the 21st century. The Entrepreneurship pathway allows you to focus specifically on how you can start and scale your own entrepreneurial venture.

Entrepreneurship is not just about having a business idea. Successful entrepreneurs need the skills, mindsets and understanding to know not only how to start their business, but how to scale it and prepare it for growth. This course is designed to prepare you for that.

The course is structured to equip you with the key competencies every manager and leader will need. Every module includes a business partner coming in to input into the module or set a live brief - ensuring this isn’t just abstract knowledge, it’s understanding you can directly apply to real businesses. In your first two years, you’ll gain the deep understanding of business disciplines every leader needs, before specialising in your final year.

I stay off campus, yet Treforest still gives off that close-knit student-town vibe. Everything is close together, the views are beautiful, and it’s great for hikes when you need a break from school!! I moved from Zim to Wales last year and acclimatised really well, everyone here is so friendly, and I’ve felt right at home since day one.     My name is Kirsty, and I'm a 23-year-old third year student pursuing a degree in Psychology with Criminology and Criminal Justice. I've previously worked as a qualified childcare practitioner. My interests lie in understanding human behavior, and in my free time, I enjoy reading, working out, and having fun. I'm currently learning Spanish and Welsh, and I'm also a young carer for my grandmother. If anyone else is in a similar situation, I'd be happy to share my experiences, especially if they're trying to attend university while caring for someone. As a local student, I commute to the University, and I also have dyslexia, which makes it challenging to understand coursework. However, I've developed practical techniques to overcome these hurdles and am willing to share them with anyone who might benefit. After completing my degree, I plan to pursue a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and eventually become a lecturer in South Wales.

Pass the Access to HE Diploma and obtain a minimum of 96 UCAS tariff points

GCSE/National 4/National 5

The University normally requires a minimum 5 GCSEs including Mathematics/Numeracy and English at Grade C or Grade 4 or above, or their equivalent, but consideration is given to individual circumstances.
