Sports Therapists are highly sought after in the sports, health and leisure sectors, whether working directly with professional athletes or managing injuries in clinical settings. Our specialised Sports Therapy degree blends academic study with practical application, helping develop advanced skills and preparing you for a diverse range of career opportunities after graduation.
There is a strong emphasis on practical experience and a range of activities that encourage an understanding of well-established principles, we have strong local relationships with Exeter City Football Club and Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club where placements are available. As part of the programme, you will run sports massage and sports injury clinics for internal staff and students, you will also provide this for Sports Academy students and support them pitch side during training and fixtures.
Throughout your studies, you’ll have the opportunity to gain additional industry recognised qualifications such as first aid, to further enhance your employability and knowledge. On completion of the Degree, you will be able to join the industry’s professional body, The Society of Sports Therapists.

Condensed timetable; The course will be taught over two days, with opportunities on an additional to support our Sports Academies.
Facilities: Students will train in our clinics which they will provide services to our sports academy, staff and members of the public. Our clinics feature ultrasound / shockwave equipment as well as recovery, rehabilitation and clinical testing equipment. Students also have access to two fully equipped gyms to support their clients.
Accreditations; On completion of this course, you will be qualified to join The Society of Sports Therapists as a graduate sports therapist.
To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
