Course summary

This programme aims to provide the opportunity for graduates to join the industry with a broad understanding of mechanical engineering, power generation, and the associated control and economics that make such technologies successful.

Our Master's in Advanced Mechanical Engineering has been developed around the key strands of energy conversion, system design, system control, and sustainability. Graduates have the chance to develop the necessary knowledge and skills required to work on the engineering challenges of the 21st Century.

You can be part of a thriving hub of research and development within the School of Engineering, where you will have the chance to work alongside academics on projects and gain exposure to industrial partners.

Hi guys :) I'm Arianna and I am currently in my second year at the University of Lincoln for studying Biochemistry. I hope to get a pHD one day and become a lecturer. I am interested in cancer research, immunochemistry and vaccine development and might get into doing a Biotechnology or Microbiology Masters at Lincoln or Cancer Immunology and Therapeutics at University of Nottingham. I am currently in the arts and crafts society, 20 minute society, Biochemistry society, video game society, tabletop society and musical society at Lincoln. I am looking to do badminton/squash/table tennis weekly too. :)

Hi I’m Ellie and I’m a Second Year Pharmacy student. I will be at Lincoln for 3 more years and plan on becoming a pharmacist when I graduate. I did A Level Biology, Chemistry, Maths and EPQ and I am very familiar with the clearing process due to my A levels not going as expected so feel free to ask questions around this subject too! Clearing felt very daunting at first when things didn’t go as planned on results day, but the process was actually really easy and ended up finding the university that’s best for me. Everything was so quick and it really helped me to settle into university lifestyle. So yeah, any questions you have about this I’m happy to answer :)

Accountancy and Finance - BA (Hons)
I have just completed my first year as an Accountancy and Finance student at the University of Lincoln. I took a gap year before starting university in which I worked and travelled, whilst deciding what I wanted my future to look like! After university, I want to either train to be an accountant, or a teacher, possibly in maths, business or my degree area. I joined the University of Lincoln's Athletics society in September 2024, which has allowed me to make new friends, and take part in many social and competitive events. I ran my first 10k race in April 2025 with fellow society members! I live at home and commuted to campus during my first year. I either walked, drove or got the bus to university.

Hi, I'm Chloe a current second year student at the University of Lincoln, studying Technical theatre and stage management. I am also a cheerleader, having competed all across the UK and abroad in Florida and Amsterdam. I am part of the cheerleading society, on Red Arrows, one of the competitive teams. I love all things theatre, especially musicals and hope to be working on the West-End some day!
