Why Music Business?
This is a fast-moving and exciting degree, designed to help you become enterprising and create opportunities in the new music business.
We cover all facets of music business to give you a taste of it all. You’ll learn how to run live events, develop and manage artists and audiences, conduct sophisticated promotional campaigns and launch your own music enterprises.
You’ll gain specialist knowledge in music law and copyright, artist management, marketing/PR and events production and management. Most of all, you’ll be supported to build your own professional network from day one.
Our media centre lets you access modern studios, media suites and performance and broadcast spaces. You’ll work closely with creative arts, media and tech students, managing collaborative and large-scale projects on music festival stages, in national campaigns and at a range of live events and enterprises.
You have the choice of whether to pursue a three-year degree with short work placement opportunities embedded, or to opt for four years and add a full year work placement between your second and final years of study. Our professional network of staff and graduates is very well connected and proactive. We invite you to gain experience in all corners of the music industry, which you submit as practical coursework as you progress through your degree.
