Course summary
Our Pharmacology BSc will give you a sound understanding of the biological action of drugs and chemicals, the way they work at the molecular, cellular and systemic levels and their use in medicines to treat disease. This course is an ideal foundation for careers in the pharmaceutical industry, biomedical research or graduate entry into medicine and equips students with transferable skills relevant for work in many other sectors. The course also features options to study abroad or extend to a four-year MSci.
Studying a Biomedical Science degree with us means that you will be able to enjoy the flexibility to choose your degree after your first year with our Common Year One curriculum. All Biomedical Science disciplines are covered in the first year, making the decision for your future an informed one.
You will be able to choose from the following Biomedical Science degrees; Anatomy, Developmental & Human Biology BSc, Biochemistry BSc, Biomedical Science BSc, Medical Physiology BSc, Molecular Genetics BSc, Neuroscience BSc, and Pharmacology BSc.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 36 credits M: 9 credits P: 0 credits
Access to Science (or similar subject). Level 3 study must include at least 15 credits in Chemistry and at least 15 credits in Biology. A total of 60 credits must be attained

Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.

36 points overall or an aggregate score of 18 from three Higher Levels. Must include grade 6 in Higher Level Biology and Higher Level Chemistry.

All International applicants to Undergraduate programmes are required to pay a deposit of £2,000 against their first year’s tuition fee. This deposit is payable when you firmly accept an unconditional offer to study with us, and will be offset against your tuition fees when you join King’s.
