Course summary

Learn and hone software development, networking and cyber security skills that are in high demand across the industry.

Our employment-focused Computing degree is designed to equip you with a broad understanding of many computing principles and build your skills in programming, database management, web development, and software engineering. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore various other areas of computing, such as computer networks, cyber security, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.

This will expose you to the diverse nature of the IT sector, and give you the chance to explore which part of this industry you want to kick-start your career in. You'll also gain hands-on experience through internships, research opportunities and final year projects.

Typical qualification requirements

GCSE/National 4/National 5

Five GCSE passes at grade 3 or D or above and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3.

If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two year post-GCSE study requirement, but you still have to meet the GCSE requirements.

If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificate level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 overall including 5.5 in each band/component.
