1 Study option · PostgraduatePaisley Campus

Course summary

Our Postgraduate Certificate in Child Protection recognises the continued high-profile of protecting children in Scotland and the importance and value of an integrated approach to recognising and responding to the needs of children and young people.

This programme has been designed to create an opportunity for inter-professional learning for those working in health, police, social work, education, the third sector and other related settings to enhance their knowledge of contemporary child protection theory that informs best practice.

This programme delivers three modules focusing on current policy themes and practice requirements relating to children’s protection and wellbeing in Scotland:

  • Child Protection in Context

  • Protecting Children

  • Child Protection Practice

There will be four teaching and learning sessions for each module, delivered on campus, which will consist of seminars and group work, thus facilitating integrated multi-disciplinary approaches to child protection teaching and learning.

Students will also use Aula, our Virtual Learning Environment, to study within a learning community with fellow students and staff. This is where lecture material and links to relevant websites can be accessed.
