BS(c) Digital Media and Communications is designed to develop the next generation of storytellers and critical thinkers, equipping you with the skills and resources to create powerful narratives across a variety of digital platforms and channels. With impactful storytelling at our core, we blend creativity, technology, critical analysis and real-world application to prepare you for a rapidly evolving media landscape.
You'll start by mastering the essential skills for a career in digital communications: research, critical thinking, and technical skills contextualised via the lens of digital media, before moving onto the fundamental principles of design and production. From traditional media to cutting-edge digital platforms, you'll learn to adapt and play within diverse media environments.

Our multimedia resource laboratories are equipped with a suite of Macs with industry-standard software and usability testing facilities with eye-tracking technology.
You'll be encouraged to develop your online presence, prove your skills and build a professional portfolio to share with potential employers.
Alongside the many networking opportunities in Manchester, our own informal gatherings will allow you to meet people from the industry, alongside some incredible guest speakers, whose contributions to our courses also help to shape what and how we teach.
Discover your creative identity through investigating the creation, manipulation and processing of digital content for new communication and media technologies. You'll also develop a contextual understanding of digital technologies and their impact on us as digital citizens.
Taught with your employability in mind, graduates of this degree have gone on to secure jobs in digital media content creation, web design, user experience, digital project management, research and development, teaching and information management, and with companies including PwC and BBC Research & Development.

Extended Project when achieved at Grade C or above
Other AS levels (or qualifications equivalent to AS level) are not accepted.

Pass Access to HE Diploma in a relevant subject with a minimum 106 UCAS Tariff Points
IB Diploma with minimum 26 points overall or 104-112 UCAS Tariff points from Higher Level. If you plan to meet the Level 2 course requirements through your IB Diploma you will need to achieve Higher Level 4 or Standard Level 5 in English and Higher Level 4 or Standard Level 4 in Mathematics
GCSE grade C/4 in English Language or Level 2 Functional Skills English pass
and
GCSE grade C/4 in Mathematics or Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics pass
