Course summary

Support the aspirations of the next generation by combining teaching and mathematics with our accelerated course.

Our innovative fast-track programme provides you with a specialist foundation degree in just two years, as well as giving you a strong understanding of young people’s development and how to inspire them with learning.

You’ll visit different educational environments, hear from industry-leading guest lecturers and have the chance to study towards an accredited Forest School certification, all while developing your academic understanding of mathematical concepts at degree level.

Put it all together and it means you’ll graduate with the skills to take up an immediate role in education, or progress onto a PGCE to complete your qualification as a teacher.

Why study at Hull?

  • Create your future pathway: Gain a first degree while focusing on your future teaching ambitions with our innovative two-year programme.

  • Peer to peer networking: Take advantage of our membership of the Early Childhood Degree Network to attend events and access profile-raising activities with hundreds of UK-based educational organisations.

  • Boost your career: Take a step closer to employability with a UK or international work placement to see and experience education in action.

Where could this take me?

After your accelerated, two-year degree you’ll have plenty of options. If you want to become a qualified teacher, you’re perfectly poised to do a PGCE. Or you could go straight into working in education as an unqualified teacher.

Outside of teaching, previous graduates have worked in education roles in the arts, heritage and local government, as well as tutors and education consultants. Or you could take up postgraduate study in a range of areas thanks to this quality first degree.
