In the first year of the programme, you will build a strong foundation for studying business, management and accounting at university level. You will develop key academic and professional skills such as communication, numeracy, critical thinking and independent learning, while being introduced to how organisations operate and how financial information is used. Teaching typically takes place through lectures, seminars and workshops, where you will explore business and accounting concepts and apply them to real-world examples, including case studies and current industry issues. You will be supported to develop your academic skills and confidence in working with quantitative and financial information. As you progress, you will explore business and management in greater depth, alongside accounting and financial management topics. You will develop your ability to evaluate information, interpret financial data, make informed decisions and respond to real-world organisational challenges.
