Pursue your passion for music on this career-focussed degree.
With our performance-led staff, you’ll challenge the value, significance and status of music in our society on our Music (Songwriting) degree.
You’ll develop technical skills, such as project management, music theory and lyric analysis, while building your research skills and social media skills to help realise your best work. Your practical work will culminate in a large-scale project that will help open doors in your future career.
BA Music (Songwriting) is a variant of the BA Music programme. You’ll share the same modules as other BA Music courses, but your assessments and specialist cluster groups will focus on songwriting.

or a combination of appropriate Level 3 qualifications
A level - C
Applicants should have an A level in Music or Music Technology at Grade C or above, or an equivalent Level 3 music qualification
Access to HE Diploma
Pass Access to HE Diploma overall with a minimum 112 UCAS tariff points including a minimum of 18 credits at Merit in Music
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 28 points
Including grade 5 in Higher Level Music
T Level
Only acceptable if studied in addition to A level Music/Music Technology at grade C
Applicants should be at a minimum of Grade 7 standard in their instrumental or vocal studies. Musicians who can demonstrate performance at this level but who have not taken practical examinations are also encouraged to apply
