An MRes course differs from an MSc in the balance of teaching to research. You'll focus on an independent research project on a subject of your choice, closely supervised by an academic. This master's degree is for you if you a studied biological science or a quantitative or computational subject at undergraduate level. On this course, you'll be assessed through exams and coursework in the form of: data analysis projects written critiques of scientific papers, summaries of seminars, discussions of methodology, and your research project.
If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate your English ability by meeting our Band E requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.5 in all components. For information on other accepted English language tests, please see our website.
