Learn the key business areas and understand how they operate in a global context. Spend 12 months abroad and gain practical international experience.
This is a practical and flexible course. A range of optional units will let you specialise or take a more general approach. If you do want to specialise, there are several ‘suggested routes’ you can do. You’ll graduate ready for the career path you want to take.
You'll also learn about business as part of society, and the related social and environmental responsibilities.
Year 1
You’ll learn key areas of management including marketing, accounting, business analytics and operations. This will give you a good foundation for the rest of your course.
Year 2
Develop your knowledge by studying areas like international strategic management and managing across cultures and contexts. Choose from a range of optional units.
Year 3
Go abroad for up to 12 months. You’ll have the flexibility to choose a work placement, International Academic Exchange or a combination of both. On your year abroad you’ll be able to immerse yourself in a new social, cultural and business environment.
Final year
Grow your expertise with specialist units and more options. You'll learn about business and strategy in emerging markets, and corporate strategy and development.
Our ‘Advanced topics in international business and management' unit covers topics from your first two years at a higher level. The latest research feeds into this unit, which we've designed to develop your critical thinking and independent learning skills. This prepares you for your Independent Project, where you'll apply what you’ve learned on the course to a research question.
