Our Real Estate (including foundation year) BSc is a four-year course with a built-in foundation year. On this comprehensive course, you will learn a range of essential academic skills needed to go on to become a professional in real estate. On successful completion of your studies, you will be ready to enter the real estate job market as sought-after expert in a range of fields, from valuation and planning to law and economics.
Build a career in real estate, even without traditional qualifications. Thanks to the extra year placed at the beginning of this course, students who may not meet the requirements to apply to our three-year Real Estate BSc (Hons) course can still become real estate graduates, ready to explore careers in the built environment sector.

The real estate industry is dynamic, engaging and challenging. While studying this course, not only will you learn how to navigate the world of real estate, but you will also develop a broad range of transferrable skills which are highly valued by industry employers. As a graduate of this Real Estate (including foundation year) BSc (Hons) degree course, you will be proficient in all areas of the real estate profession, from law to economics, planning to valuation, assessment to development and asset management to urban regeneration.
The real estate sector welcomes everyone, regardless of your previous qualifications. This course is aimed at students who have the ambition to succeed in the real estate industry but may not have the qualifications to apply directly to one of our non-foundation degrees. This foundation year course focuses on developing your key study skills in areas such as problem-solving, digital literacy, presentation and communication, and application of mathematics. This also makes this degree course ideal for mature students seeking to update their experience.

Graduate alongside everyone else. Once you’ve completed the first year of your foundation course, you’ll join the rest of the students studying the three-year Real Estate degree. You will benefit from all the same course options and modules, and thanks to the experience you gained during your foundation year you will be ready to enter the curriculum as a skilled student of real estate.

Assessment for your study may include coursework, examinations and written/practical tests. Your coursework types will be varied, including reports, essays, presentations and portfolios. Assessments for this course will be developed in line with the University tariff guidelines and policy.

The foundation year for this course is charged at £5,760 for Home/UK students.
