From the discovery of extrasolar planets, to the study of gravitational wave events and the evolution of the universe, you'll deepen your curiosity and develop a solid foundation of astrophysical knowledge on our 4 year integrated masters programme, gaining the advanced research, professional, practical and employability skills to pursue PhD study or employment in a wide variety of industrial sectors.

Our Astrophysics with Integrated Master's combines a solid grounding in core physics concepts, graduate skills and attributes defined by the Institute of Physics (IoP) accreditation framework with exploration of frontier topics, informed by the interests of our world-class research teams, and the advanced research skills and experience to enhance your employability.

Designed to provide you with the specialist skills you will need as an astrophysicist, our programme has core practical, academic and professional employability modules embedded throughout the curriculum. From hands-on practice in conducting experiments and learning computer programming, to dedicated career-focused sessions and innovative assessments, we will provide you with a strong foundation of key skills for your future career.

This programme has recently been refreshed, and the new structure will be reviewed by the IoP for accreditation.

UCAS Tariff - 128 points

A level - ABB

ABB in three A Levels including B in Maths or Physics

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DDM

DDM in any of the following BTEC Extended Diplomas / National Extended Diplomas: Engineering

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits

128 UCAS points in an Access to HE Diploma with Maths related content, including Distinction in at least 30 Level 3 credits. Please contact the University Admissions Team for advice on whether your chosen course would qualify.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 32 points

655 in three Higher Levels including 5 in Maths or Physics, OR 32 points including 5 in Higher Level Maths or Physics

GCSE/National 4/National 5

You will also need: 6 / B in GCSE Maths or Level 2 Functional Skills Maths, plus an English language qualification

T Level - D

Distinction in any of the following T Levels: Engineering and Manufacturing
