Our course is characterised by its focus on industrial relevance. You'll engage in practical laboratory experiences, design and problem-based learning, independent and peer learning, and research and industrial contextualisation. From the very beginning, you’ll gain a deep understanding of fundamental engineering and design processes, and, in your fourth year, you’ll spend a year working in industry, giving you first-hand experience of the exciting challenges faced by engineers.
In your first year, you'll cover the fundamentals of chemical and environmental engineering and build a solid foundation in what it means to be a professional engineer.
As you progress through your course, you'll develop a thorough understanding of chemical and environmental engineering theory, method and practice, as well as transferable skills such as project management, analytical thinking, leadership and teamwork.
In your fourth year, your industrial placement will help refine your skills and allow you to see first-hand the challenges and innovations driving the profession forward.

You'll also be on track to professionally register a Chartered Engineer, following the relevant industrial training and experience.
