The FdA Education (Early Years) is designed for those passionate about shaping the lives of children in the 0-5 age range, combining academic study with practical learning to prepare you for impactful roles in education and care. This programme develops the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to support children’s development while promoting inclusive and effective practice.
You will explore key themes including child development, safeguarding, curriculum design, educational theory, and working with families, all underpinned by current policy and sector priorities. The programme also places strong emphasis on reflective practice, encouraging you to analyse your professional approach and adapt to meet the diverse needs of children and communities.
Whether you are beginning your career in early years education or building on existing experience, this course provides the confidence, critical insight, and applied skills to progress into meaningful roles or further study.

The following entry points are available for this course:
Candidates are expected to have successfully completed a relevant qualification at Level 3, such as a BTEC, Diploma or T-Level. Whilst the relevant qualification should map to the chosen pathway, alternative qualifications at the appropriate level will be considered on an individual basis through non-standard entry this may include substantial work experience.
Candidates are normally expected to have achieved at least a grade 4 (or equivalent) in GCSE English and Maths.
