Course summary

Our HND Business course launches your business career by providing you with the skills and expertise which are both current and highly marketable.
It’ll give you an edge when starting your career and set you up with a solid foundation for further study.

You will be taught through a blend of lectures, guest speakers, seminars, case studies as well as individual and group work. Application of theory and models to real and fictional case studies to analyse problems and make recommendations; Individual, Paired and Group work ; Design, Role Play and Experiential Learning with Presentations to Business Clients who feedback on students’ plans and recommendations.

You will complete a Research Project and study a range of modules which include; Organisational Behaviour, Financial Management, Statistics for Management, Developing Individuals, teams and organisations, Digital marketing, Business Strategy, Marketing Processes and Planning, HRM, Leadership and Management, Accounting Principles, Managing a successful Business Project, Business Law, Business Data and Numerical Skills.

At the end of the course you will have the opportunity to celebrate your achievement with a full graduation ceremony.

The course has a broad business base, such that each unit will be distinct. Teaching and Learning therefore follows a varied pattern. Year 2 Modules include; Organisational Behaviour, Statistics for Management, Business Strategy, Developing Individuals & Teams, Digital Marketing, Finance Management.

Assessment method

The course is assessed by a variety of in-course assignment work. Course work assignments can take the form of Business Reports, Business Briefings, individual or group Presentations, Time Constrained Assessments, through to Presentations of Individual Research.

We look at each application individually, considering your grades, interview and any relevant experience. We typically expect students to have achieved 64 UCAS points or MPP in a Level 3 Diploma / Extended Diploma, alongside grade 4 in GCSE English and Maths. Mature students who don't meet these standard entry requirements may be able to show us their potential through relevant experience. Applicants whose first language is not English and who do not have GCSE English will be asked to take an IELTS assessment or equivalent and will need to achieve an overall score of 6.0, with 6.0 in the writing element and at least 5.5 in all other sub elements. To enter year 2 of the Higher National Diploma directly, students need to have successfully completed the Higher National Certificate or equivalent.
