The Automotive Engineering MSc at Cranfield University prepares engineers to design, analyse and optimise complete vehicle systems that are safer, more energy-efficient and more sustainable. This course provides advanced knowledge of vehicle architecture, propulsion and driveline systems, vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, structures, and electrical and electronic control systems, enabling you to understand how mechanical and electrical subsystems interact within modern passenger, commercial and specialised vehicles. The programme covers electrification, energy management strategies and emerging vehicle technologies while maintaining a strong emphasis on whole-vehicle performance, systems integration and real-world engineering constraints.

Cranfield Automotive Programme graduates have a strong employment record and occupy positions of responsibility in industry, including engineering management, advanced product development, and research and development roles. Some graduates also progress to PhD study at Cranfield University.

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
A UK first or second class undergraduate degree with honours, as a minimum, or equivalent international qualification. Ideally applicants will have studied in engineering, mathematics or an applied science subject.
If you are an international student you will need to provide evidence that you have achieved a satisfactory test result in an English qualification. The minimum standard expected from a number of accepted courses are as follows: IELTS - 6.5; TOEFL - 92; Pearson PTE Academic - 65; Cambridge English Scale - 180; Cambridge English: Advanced - C; Cambridge English: Proficiency - C.
