Course summary

The Foundation Acting for Stage and Screen (Cert HE) aims to nurture and develop skills and techniques for those who either wish to train within a conservatoire or higher education environment in pursuit of a career within the performing arts or for those who feel they are ready to enter the profession after a year of immersive training.

The course is both an innovative and intensive. It’s taught over 3 full terms by BSA’s highly experienced tutors and guest industry professionals. It will offer you robust grounding in the core disciplines of actor training for both stage and camera work with modules in Acting Processes, Acting for Camera and The Expressive Actor Voice. You will be supported to explore the options that exist after the course and to choose a pathway that is right for you, including being prepared for auditions at conservatoire drama schools as part of the Pathways into Acting module. You’ll explore how to develop your practice and undertake artistic collaboration in the Collaborative Theatre module. The course culminates with a production in a professional theatre in Bristol.
