Immerse yourself in a dynamic and creative journey with our Dance qualifications - a programme designed to inspire, challenge, and prepare you for success in the performing arts industry. Two thirds of your training takes place at a specialist, purpose-built dance and acting facility in Peterborough, giving you access to professional studios, industry-standard equipment, and an environment that mirrors real-world performance spaces.
Throughout the course, you’ll combine intensive practical dance training with critical and contextual study, developing as both a technically accomplished and intellectually curious performer. You’ll explore a range of contemporary and traditional dance practices while gaining essential skills in choreography, performance, and collaboration.

Performance is at the heart of this programme - you’ll take part in a variety of live and site-specific productions, working in theatres, arts venues, and creative spaces across the region. By graduation, you’ll have built a portfolio of performance experiences and the confidence to thrive in further study or professional practice in the vibrant world of dance.

For this course you can either apply for the HNC Dance (1 year course) or the HND Dance (2 year course). On successful completion of the HNC Dance you are able to move into the second year of the HND Dance if you chose to. On successful completion of the HND Dance you are able to progress into the BA(Hons) Top Up Degree to achieve a full degree. Please note the Top Up is subject to validation.

Modules
The modules on this programme provide a broad foundation in performance training while allowing you to tailor your studies to your chosen specialism. Each module is designed to develop both your creative voice and professional skill set, supporting your growth as a confident, adaptable performer.

HNC Dance (Higher National Certificate) / Year 1 of the HND Dance (Higher National Diploma)
● Module A1: Concept and Development: An opportunity to develop the diverse range of skills and techniques necessary to succeed
● Module A2: Creative Project: An opportunity to put those learned skills to the test in a full scale project to an audience.

Year 2 of the HND Dance (Higher National Diploma)
● Module B1: Personal Professional Development: Take Ownership of your skills development and focus on the type of performer you wish to be
● Module B2: Professional Project: The culmination of two years of training as you explore a full scale performance project in an appropriate medium
