Business Management (Modern Languages) with a Year Abroad

This degree is perfect for you if you have an interest in both business management and modern languages. It encompasses essential aspects of business and management, while also giving you the opportunity to acquire competence in a modern language.

In the first year, you will explore various languages through taster sessions, allowing you to experience Mandarin, French, Italian, German, and Spanish before selecting one language as your focus. In the second year, you will follow Beginners’ language modules, while in the final year, you'll advance to the intermediate level. As your studies progress you will also learn how to use your foreign language in a professional environment.

As part of this programme, you will spend a year abroad between your second and final year, broadening your skills and experience. In Year 1, you will typically study areas including: Accounting for Managers, Managing People, Key Skills for Business, Introduction to Studying Languages for Business Students, The Global Context of Organisation.

In Year 2, you will typically study areas including: Economics for Business, Strategic Analysis, Digital Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Information Systems.

In Year 3, you undertake a Stody Abroad Placement.

In Year 4, you will typically study areas including: Power and Organisation, Innovation Management, Project Management, Data Mining. You will also undertake a Final Year Project.

We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes. In addition to traditional examinations and essays, examples of alternative assessment include:
