By studying BSc (Hons) Marketing at ARU Peterborough, you’ll achieve a sound understanding of the terminology, concepts, principles, and techniques used in marketing.
During your first year you will study Literacies in Higher Education, Introduction to Life Sciences, Contemporary Issues and Into ARU before moving into and in from year 2 we’ll encourage you to pursue areas of particular interest, and to appreciate the importance of the social, political, ethical, technological, environmental, and global contexts in which today’s businesses – and marketers – operate.
It’s perfect preparation for a career in this varied, fast-moving field.
As well as looking at the principles and practice of marketing, our BSc (Hons) Marketing degree has a strong foundation in business and management.
While studying at ARU Peterborough, you’ll evaluate markets as a method of resource allocation, ‘market failures’, and policy corrections, both product and factor markets.
You’ll learn to deploy your knowledge and skills to design, implement and evaluate marketing strategies, and effectively use a range of marketing tools and techniques to deliver results. You will be able to devise credible solutions to organisational problems in a wide range of marketing contexts.
You will also develop a comprehensive understanding of the principles and functions of management, including human resources, marketing, accounting, and finance, including knowledge and information management.

The assessments are designed to allow you to demonstrate what you’ve learned, and to make sure you’re developing the abilities and skills you need to complete the course. You can expect an interesting mix of coursework, essays, and activity-based assignments. Your assessments could include problem-solving activities, consultancy projects, presentations, and group or individual reports.
The following entry points are available for this course:
5 GCSEs at grade D, or grade 3, or above including English and maths and evidence of two years post-GCSE study at Level 3. If you have achieved at least grade E in one A level, or equivalent, you are exempt from the two year post-GCSE study requirement, but you still have to meet the GCSE requirements.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 5.5 ( Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
