Course summary

Explore contrasting and diverse approaches to acting and performance, crafting your own practice as a performer, director, and/or theatre-maker.

The world of theatre and performance is continually reshaped by emerging artists. Step into the international spotlight and be part of this evolution by training
as a performer and theatre-maker. Develop your distinctive artistic voice and take charge of your career by honing your skills and expanding your knowledge as a performer, director, facilitator, teacher, and producer.

COURSE CONTENT

Year One
Develop a strong foundation in a wide range of acting and performance techniques, methods, and skills. Contextualise your practice with a rigorous understanding of performance theory, underpinned by an exploration of ethically driven professional practice.
Year Two
Extend your skills by examining acting practices in greater contextual detail. Take ownership of your development by identifying and addressing your individual training needs. Undertake a placement with one of our partner organisations, either in the UK or internationally. Explore new approaches to directing text through creative experimentation.
Year Three
Engage in practice-based research as you complete public collaborative productions and practical projects. Prepare for professional life by developing a professional portfolio and crafting a personalised action plan.

Assessment will be through: Performances; Coursework, presentations and portfolios; Continuous practical assessment

We also run short-term courses, summer schools and foundation programmes for international students who are looking for a shorter period of study.

You will be studying close to London and have easy access to the amazing culture, restaurants and theatre there.

English language requirements

You must achieve a minimum score of IELTS 5.5 overall with no less than 5.5 in each component or a Secure English Language Test (SELT) equivalent to this score. We accept all Secure English Language Tests (SELTs) as approved by the UKVI.
