Course summary

Clinical practice at an advanced level is a demanding and challenging role. Throughout your Advanced Clinical Practice Masters degree at ARU, we'll help you develop the skills and expertise you need to provide advanced clinical care. Alongside this, you'll transform your existing academic qualifications into a Masters in Advanced Practice (Clinical) accredited by the RCN (for nurses only).

With the choice to study at ARU in Cambridge or Chelmsford, you'll learn alongside other students with a particular interest in your chosen area of advanced practice. It's a great opportunity to learn from each other. Together, you'll explore and apply the current policies, laws and procedures that apply to caring patients at this advanced level.

We'll encourage you to delve into all areas of this field to extend your knowledge as much as possible. You'll not only strengthen your leadership and clinical decision-making skills, but also your ability to research, making effective use of evidence to support clinical practice.

While studying your Advanced Practice (Clinical) Masters degree, you'll work with professionals from other disciplines. This, together with the level of knowledge you'll gain from our course, will empower you to develop others through teaching and education.

When it comes to work placements, you'll need to already be employed in a care environment suitable to your chosen route through our course. Your manager should agree to provide you with a designated clinical supervisor, who will support and nurture your clinical practice while also ensuring it can be fully assessed.
