You'll study all the core areas of psychology required for British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation, including biological, cognitive, developmental, and social psychology, while also exploring how psychology can be applied in Hartpury’s specialist areas including sport, exercise, agriculture, health, education, and inclusive of innovative approaches such as animal-assisted and green therapy.

Teaching is delivered by expert academics and practitioners, including those registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and enriched by guest lectures from leaders in specialist fields. From the very start, you’ll be supported to develop the practical skills, critical thinking, and research capabilities you’ll need for a wide range of careers in psychology and related sectors.

Our modules are developed regularly to reflect student and industry demands, ensuring you’re well prepared to enter skilled employment on graduation. The majority of courses are comprised of both compulsory and optional modules, the latter of which you'll be able to choose from to suit your interests and career goals. Modules include: Introduction to Applications of Psychology, Psychology Past and Present, Professional Skills in Psychology, Introducing Cognitive and Biological Psychology, Introducing Social and Developmental Psychology, Introductory Research Methods in Psychology, Further Applications of Psychology, Social and Cultural Psychology, Brain and Behaviour, Advanced Research Methods in Psychology, Lifespan Development, Individual Differences, Professional Practice and Standards in Psychology, Evidence-Based Practice in Wellbeing, Positive Psychology, Psychology Dissertation, Psychology of Community and Culture and Contemporary Issues in Psychology. Most courses also include work placement learning, to help you gain essential experience for your future.
