To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
International applicants should hold qualifications equivalent to an international undergraduate degree that is equivalent to a 2.2 classification (or a 2.7 GPA) or above in a related subject. International applicants are required to demonstrate proficiency in English at CEFR Level B2. Test result certificates must accompany applications and are required for all international students (EU included).
You can meet this requirement through a range of qualifications, including school qualifications, English language tests, pre-sessional/English Foundation programmes, and Secure English Language Tests (SLTs). Below, please find the minimum required scores for our most commonly submitted English Language assessments:
IELTS Academic: 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component
TOEFL (IBT): 72 overall, with a minimum of 18 in Reading, 17 in Writing, 17 in Listening, and 20 in Speaking
Pearson (PTE) Academic: 59 overall and in all components
