Course summary

Architecture at Cambridge combines the intellectual challenges of both arts and sciences with the opportunity for creative design.

Study history and philosophy of architecture, participatory practice, inclusivity, contemporary culture and urbanism. Alongside this you’ll learn about construction, structural design and environmental design.

The University of Cambridge has made some important changes to the structure of the Architecture course for 2026 entry. Our website was updated in July 2025 to reflect the change from a 3-year BA to a 4-year integrated MArch. The University is currently working with UCAS to update College options with this change.

Please note that it’s not possible to apply to this course as an affiliate student (to take the course as a second undergraduate degree in a year less than usual).
