Course summary

The Applied Psychology degree from Robert Gordon University covers the scientific study of the brain and behaviour, and will explore how we interact with the world around us. Social science encompasses a range of fascinating disciplines. Psychology is one that is well-known and topical with a practical application.

This course is delivered by a small, friendly, research-active staff group.

In your first two years you will study a range of social science modules. This initial grounding will be invaluable for exploring the real-world applications of psychology, before you specialise in psychology-based modules and tailoring your degree according to your interests. Additionally, you will be developing a series of transferable skills that will be vital for your future career.

Please note that advanced entry is not available for this course at present.

A relevant HNC or HND from one of our partner colleges will be considered for entry into Year 2 or 3 subject to meeting requirements.

All other applicants who are interested in applying for advanced entry will be considered on an individual basis.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DMM

in a relevant subject

Access to HE Diploma - M: 45 credits P: 15 credits

Pass 60 credits to include at least 45 credits at Level 3 grade merit from a relevant diploma

Scottish Higher - BBBC

To include a written subject requiring the use of English.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 27 points

To include a Higher Level written subject requiring the use of English.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H2, H3, H3, H3

To include a written subject requiring the use of English.

Scottish HNC - Pass

Relevant HNC for entry to year 2

Scottish HND - Pass

Relevant HND with B in the graded unit for entry to year 3

Foundation Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6) - Pass

May be accepted in combination with SQA Highers

T Level - Pass (C and above)

Accepted in combination with A Level English/written subject at grade C.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

BBC/BCCC to include a written subject requiring the use of English

English language requirements

Applicants whose first language is not English should have an Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) of 6.0 overall, with no component lower than 5.5.
