Human Resource Management professionals who can motivate employees, drive performance and ensure organisational compliance are highly sought after.

This course is designed to equip you with an understanding of organisational processes and people management practices that play a pivotal role in organisational performance and success. Throughout this course, you will develop key skills such as communication, leadership, emotional intelligence and teamwork. You will also gain critical knowledge of areas such as employment law, talent management and organisational behaviour.

Modules

This course gives you the knowledge, skills and experience needed for a graduate career in human resource management.

In your first year, you will build a strong foundation in HRM and explore its role across different organisations. You will focus on core HR skills such as emotional intelligence, professionalism and ethical decision making, while learning about the stages of the employee lifecycle and embedding diversity, equity and inclusion principles into practice.

In your second year, you will deepen your understanding of organisational structures and discover how HR skills, processes and practices can be applied to improve organisational effectiveness. This stage of the course helps you connect theory with practice, preparing you to take on more advanced HR responsibilities.

In your final year, you will bring together everything you have learned to develop a complete understanding of human resources. You will design strategic HR plans for different functions across a range of organisations, giving you the confidence and expertise to step into professional HR roles or progress into postgraduate study.

Assessment method

We use different assessment techniques in different modules and try to ensure all assessments reflect the types of work you will do after graduating. This may include portfolio work, multiple choice questions, group reports and problem-solving questions.
