Know you’re interested in Communications, but not a 100% sure what career? Edinburgh Napier University has more than 20 years' experience in teaching professional communication.

Recognised by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA), this professionally focused course will prepare you for employment or postgraduate study in a range of disciplines such as advertising, public relations, branding, marketing, corporate communications, mass communications, media and digital communications.

The course provides the opportunity to study at a partner university overseas, or complete a work placement in industry.

A level - BCC

Including English or a Literary subject*

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DMM

Minimum grades DMM (Distinction, Merit, Merit) in a related subject.

Access to HE Diploma - D: 12 credits M: 33 credits

Pass Access to HE Diploma in a related subject with 45 credits overall, with minimum 33 credits at grade Merit and 12 credits at grade Distinction. English or a Literary subject* must be studied at Level 3.

Scottish Higher - BBBB

Including English or a Literary subject*. If you are eligible for an adjusted offer under our Contextual Admissions Policy, please see the ‘Minimum Qualification Requirements’ below.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - D*D*

Minimum grades D*D* (Distinction*, Distinction*) in a related subject.

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 28 points

Award of Diploma with 28 points overall with three HL subjects at grades 6, 5, 4 including English or a Literary subject*.

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H2, H2, H3, H3

H2, H2, H3, H3 at HL including English or a Literary subject*.

T Level - M

T Level must be completed in a English/Literary subject or an A Level in English/Literary subject may be required. Please contact ugadmissions@napier.ac.uk to check if you meet the subject specific requirements.

Mimimum Year 2 Entry

Pass HNC in Media related subject with B in the Graded Unit - Advertising and PR, Media and Communication, Events Management, Marketing. Other HNCs where primary subject areas include Advertising, PR,, Branding etc. will be considered individually.

Mimimum Year 3 Entry

Pass HND in Media related subject with B in the Graded Unit - Advertising and PR, Media and Communication, Events Management, Marketing
Other HNDs where primary subject areas include Advertising, PR, Branding etc. will be considered individually.

  • Literary subjects accepted are: Modern Studies, History, Psychology, Sociology, RMPS, Theology, Media Studies, Philosophy, Politics, Geography, Latin and Classics, A Level Government and Politics, A Level Classical Civilisation, A Level Drama.
