By studying this course with a foundation year, you’ll begin by developing the creative, practical and academic skills needed for degree level study within the Creative Industries. You’ll learn alongside other foundation year students from across the Creative Industries Institute, becoming part of a vibrant creative community with access to specialist facilities, technical expertise and industry focused teaching. The foundation year prepares you to progress directly onto the Illustration degree, while also giving you the flexibility to transfer to another Creative Industries course without needing to reapply.

The Illustration course is a progressive, innovative and technologically enhanced course that prepares you for professional practice through applied creative projects and real-world challenges. Designed to build confidence, creativity and resilience, the course helps you develop the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to become a professional illustrator. Working in purpose-designed workshops and illustration studios, you’ll experiment with the latest digital tools and technologies while transforming your practice through live, client-led projects for diverse audiences. By the end of the course, you’ll have built a distinctive portfolio and showreel to support a career in the wider creative industries or further study.
