Studying Accounting & Finance is a great opportunity to gain a degree that is clearly focused on your career prospects in a wide variety of contexts. This course will give you a thorough understanding of accounting concepts which is ideal if you want to go on to be a professional accountant.
This course will introduce you to and develop your knowledge of the principles and practice of Accounting and Finance. This degree will give you a thorough understanding of accounting concepts which is ideal if you want to go on to be a professional accountant. However, having a good understanding of accounting and finance is an advantage in any profession today. So even if you don’t want to become a professional accountant, you will find this degree invaluable.
On the Accounting and Finance BA (Hons) programme you will experience and take part in lectures, seminars, workshops, task focused activities, field-trips and excursions and informative engagement with industry practitioners. Crucially, this distinctive programme is backed up by four distinct features. These are:

Research informed teaching where experts in their subjects will work with you and develop your knowledge, critical thinking and analytical awareness in the world of accounting and finance
Dedicated one on one support from your personal tutor to enable you to reach your potential and capped seminar sizes of 20-25 students
A digitally aware programme from experts that will help you to learn how to use digital media and data analytics to inform your accounting and finance skills.
All students take four modules:
Business Enterprise
Developments in Business and Society
Foundations of Economic and Financial Analysis
Academic Skills and Personal Development
These modules are designed to provide the grounding in the knowledge the students require in order for them to progress on any of our degree programmes, while also providing the opportunity for students to transfer across our portfolio of courses.
Assessments are contextualised (where possible) to suit your subject area to ensure relevance to your programme of study.
