Take the first steps towards a range of exciting and rewarding careers in Law with our LLB Law (JD Pathway) Single Honours Degree.
You will gain a comprehensive grounding in the core areas covered by a law degree. You will study modules from a wide range of subject areas, including: Public Law, Tort Law, Contract Law, Equity and Trusts, Land Law, EU Law in Context, and Canadian Constitutional Law.
As your studies progress, you can choose from a wide range of specialised subject areas of law with a range of optional modules to choose from. You will have ample opportunity to develop your professional legal skills by taking optional experiential modules in Advocacy, Clinical Legal Education and Negotiations.
The programme fuses academic rigour with the opportunity to develop a range of essential legal skills, enabling you to progress on to the next stage of training to qualify as a lawyer in England, Wales, and Canada.
The degree incorporates the core legal subjects assessed by the Solicitors Qualification Examination and is accredited by the Bar Standards Board. Subject to a minimum level of attainment in core modules, the degree is also accredited by the Canadian National Committee on Accreditation (NCA), and the Canadian Constitutional Law module provides excellent preparation for the NCA exam.

Years 1 and 2 consist of the core areas of a law degree, with the option to select some of your own modules in year 2.
Year 3 consists of the compulsory modules, EU Law in Context and Canadian Connotational Law, alongside a range of optional modules in specialist fields of law.
We offer a variety of assessment methods within our programmes.
In addition to traditional examinations and essays, examples of alternative assessment may include:
• Writing a letter of advice to a client
• Blog and poster writing
• Group-based tasks

Advanced Highers
At Swansea University, applicants predicted grade B or above in EPQ will receive an offer with a one-grade reduction. e.g., an offer of AAB would become ABB plus EPQ B.
