Course summary
Archaeology is the study of how people in the past interacted with their world, through a detailed study of their objects, sites, monuments and landscapes. You will have the opportunity to gain practical fieldwork skills in the UK and also abroad. Recent students have worked in the Baltic states, Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy and Portugal.
Scottish History:The study of history is the study of change and continuity in human society through time. Scottish history is the study of Scotlandâs past. Scottish History at Glasgow boasts world-leading researchers at the cutting edge of the discipline across all periods, from medieval to modern. The Centre for Scottish & Celtic Studies at Glasgow addresses Scottish history in a genuinely cross-disciplinary environment and students are encouraged to get involved.

Well, letâs just say Iâm aiming for somewhere between a lab genius discovering the next big breakthrough and a science communicator who makes pharmacology sound cooler than it is (and trust me, itâs pretty cool). I am passionate about science and how it can change lives in such meaningful ways and my end goal is to make medicine a bit more accessible than it is today. Outside of academics, youâll probably find me on the basketball court or volunteeringâI love working with kids and finding ways to make learning fun for them (yes, teaching can be fun!). I also juggle a few roles like being a Class Rep and basketball convener so Iâm pretty familiar with what it takes to balance the chaos of uni life. Spoiler: itâs a lot of caffeine and a lot of to-do lists.
